Okay! I've officially cleaned out all my messages

(there were like, five hundred-something after my nearly-six-months of inactivity), and I've posted something finished that's not old and/or suckish! My head is spinning with inspiration. Since I'm currently stuck out-of-town with a computer that can't open the files I usually save my writing as (at least without a major headache, and even then it can't save them as such), most of that energy has been going in the visual direction (even though I want to be writing)!
Also, I forewarn you, a lot of what I'm planning is Nintendo fanart of some sort, because I've been meaning to do some for a while and the only games we brought to the beach are Mario games... I know I was going to say more here, but I can't remember what it was, so I'm just going to go on ahead to the part you all really want to see: my plans!
Progress Bullets:
- Just an idea

- Barely started

- Somewhere near halfway/done with the sketch

- Working on it... somewhere between yellow and blue. XD

- Just needs final touches

- Done!

Mermaid Daisy paintsketch

Princess Pepper redesign

Breakaway Pic

Daisy paperdoll series

Martha Portrait/Speedpaint (perhaps a New Who companions series?)

Cassandra pic for DAC challenge (mua-ha-ha, she's gonna hate me for this)

Paintsketches of the fam (only a possibility, so don't hold your breath)
Also look out for sketch-dumps (I'm planning on doing a lot of sketches while I'm working on stuff), and potential contest entries.
On the writing side of things, my friend and I are getting down the the grindstone on our collaborative novel. Major editing and rewrites of entire chapters are on the agenda, and we've also got plans to change some things that I can't go into here due to the fact that they're supposed to be kept under lock-and-key. (If you know anything more and are one of the people I've already talked to about it, keep your mouth shut on the public parts of DA. Please and thank you.)
Oh, and we're definitely looking down the self-publishing road now, and that means we still need a cover artist. We would pay an initial fee for the fantastic artwork to be done, and we'd also be willing to pay royalties afterwards; we're very open to negotiation, and we're not going to try to strip you of all ownership and credit. Please, at least think about it. More details
here. If you know someone else who might be interested, please pass the news along. We really need to find someone.
In addition to a cover artist, I'm in need of opinions. There's a story I've been writing that, up until now, has been called By the Legends, which started out as something of a working title, but my friends and I have just gotten so used to it that it pretty much became the conceptual final title for a while. Recently, though, there's been some talk and a little re-thinking, and we've come up with something that I'm pondering. It's not as familiar, and it sounds strange to us after calling it BtL for so long, but I think it could work. I'm looking for outside opinions.
By her Sparks.
Without knowing anything else about it (unless you know something already, in which case your opinion is still greatly valued), how does it strike you? As a title, what does it put in your mind? Does it sound good? What sort of ideas do you glean from it? In very highschool-english-test terms, what inferences do you make about the book from it? Would you be interested enough based off the title to pick it up off the library shelf? In short, do you like it? Though more in-depth answers to the other questions would also be appreciated. Thank you so much in advanced, I could really use your help on this.
There's one last thing I'd like to mention in this super-long journal (my apologies for the long-ness). I've been thinking about positng my
NaNo from last year on Devart. It's not complete, it's very messy, and I really doubt I'll ever do anything more with it, but I kinda liked parts of it. And who knows, maybe the feedback will get me inspired. For those that don't know what NaNo is, click the link. It explains. For those that do, as simply as I can explain it, mine was about a mortal girl with a fatal (and painful) disease in a society that is primarily immortal, and her desperation to try and fix her own self-chosen mortality.

Wow... Drabble-writing has done me good; I actually managed to summarize it in a sentence. All November, I thought that was impossible.

Aaaaanyways, sorry for the long, rambling-ness of this journal, and sorry for being dead for so long. Both the rambling and the being-back-ness are pretty much the direct results of an extended vacation. Homesickness does strange things to me. Some of it is just a little good for you guys.
